Let Us Pray

“Let Us Pray” – Day of Prayer – Bethany Lutheran – September 11th

If there is one thing this year has taught us so far, it’s that we need God. Perhaps now more than ever. In light of this and all that is going on in our country right now, we will be offering a day of prayer here at Bethany on Friday, September 11th. This will be a time to gather as God’s people to ask for his mercy and grace upon our land, as we pray for ourselves, our church, our neighbors, our community, and our country.

Our posture in prayer is a firm faith in God’s promises, believing in His desire to hear and answer us as His children. We pray because God has asked us to bring our prayers and petitions to Him, our thanks and praise as well as our cares and concerns. We pray so that our sins might be forgiven and that our hearts might be renewed in Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. No matter what time or day, it’s always a good time to pray.

We will have prayers and hymns and devotionals available to assist in your prayer time. You may come anytime for 30 minutes, an hour, or as long as you would like. The church will be open and available all day.

Our theme bible verse for the day will be 2 Chronicles 7:14 – “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Now is the time. Let us pray.

Return from Exile

Dear Bethany Family,

Our time of exile will soon be over. We will be holding worship in the sanctuary this coming Sunday (May 10). At the same time, we will continue to provide audio for those in the parking lot who may be uncomfortable or unable to come inside.

In addition, we will continue to …

– Encourage people who feel sick to stay home.
– Practice appropriate social distancing.
– Place hand sanitizer and disinfectant in the narthex.
– Not hug or shake hands for a time.
– Pick up our own bulletins.

Thank you for being patient in these strange and uncertain times. We know from God’s Word that all things work for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Our Loving Lord will continue to provide all that we need for body and soul to life eternal.

Please join us this month for our series from the Book of Daniel – “A Faithful Life in A Foreign Land.”

Drive In Service

This Sunday (April 5) we will begin offering a Drive-In worship service here at Bethany. The service will begin at the normal time of 9am. Please park in the main parking lot and roll down your windows since we’ll be using the church’s speakers and sound system. The order of service will be sent out ahead of time so you can follow along in your car. At the end of the service of the Word, you may pull into the circle drive to receive Holy Communion in your car.

Please be patient with us in this new venture as we try our best to minister during the corona crisis. If all goes well, we will continue with the drive-in service on Easter Sunday and for the next few weeks. As has been said before, we don’t know what the future holds, but we do know Who holds the future.

If you are in need of pastoral care during this time please contact me via text, phone, email, or facebook. I am available for prayer, confession/absolution, and private communion. If any of our seniors need assistance with groceries or errands, please let us know. We’re all in this together and we’ll do our best to trust in God and serve our neighbor in love.

Remember to send in your offerings or bring them on Sunday. God’s peace and comfort be with you all.
