“Let Us Pray” – Day of Prayer – Bethany Lutheran – September 11th
If there is one thing this year has taught us so far, it’s that we need God. Perhaps now more than ever. In light of this and all that is going on in our country right now, we will be offering a day of prayer here at Bethany on Friday, September 11th. This will be a time to gather as God’s people to ask for his mercy and grace upon our land, as we pray for ourselves, our church, our neighbors, our community, and our country.
Our posture in prayer is a firm faith in God’s promises, believing in His desire to hear and answer us as His children. We pray because God has asked us to bring our prayers and petitions to Him, our thanks and praise as well as our cares and concerns. We pray so that our sins might be forgiven and that our hearts might be renewed in Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. No matter what time or day, it’s always a good time to pray.
We will have prayers and hymns and devotionals available to assist in your prayer time. You may come anytime for 30 minutes, an hour, or as long as you would like. The church will be open and available all day.
Our theme bible verse for the day will be 2 Chronicles 7:14 – “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Now is the time. Let us pray.
